For families and caregivers

When someone you love is living with memory loss, a familiar face in a photo can open the door to a story, a smile, or a quiet moment together.

Sit together, one photo at a time

Choose a calm moment and a few favorite photos. Let your loved one look for as long as they like. There is no score to win and no wrong answer — the conversation is the point.

Gentle tips

  • Start with older photos — long-ago memories often feel most familiar.
  • Offer the name kindly if it doesn’t come, then move on to the story.
  • Ask open questions: “Where do you think this was?” or “What was she like?”
  • Keep sessions short and stop while it still feels good.
  • Write down what they share — add it to the card’s story for the whole family.

Build the deck as a family

Grandchildren, siblings, and friends can each add photos and stories. Export the deck and share the file so everyone has the same cards.
